Elf on the Shelf Summer Message

My son who will be 9 in a little over a month is starting to have questions and doubts about Santa and our Elf on the Shelf, Cuddles.  After seeing this postcard from East Coast Mommy I knew I needed to act!

Once our mail was delivered I announced to the kids that they had mail, which they always love!  My son opened the envelope and read the postcard message, looked at it for a few more seconds and handed it back to me.  Hmmmm, was that a good thing or not that he said nothing!?!?!  I've convinced myself that it is a good thing and that maybe just maybe I can squeeze one more year of my little man still believing in the magic of the season!

  1. What a cute idea. You have to let me know how it goes with your son. I am wondering if this would also work for my soon to be 9 year old.

    1. Well, my son didn't say much just read it and handed it back to me. I'm hoping that's a good thing!? Whether your son is questioning things like Santa and/or Elf on the Shelf or not this is such a cute reminder to the kids that your Elf will be back!

  2. Aw, this is so sweet! My son was still a believer at 9, but had his doubts. I wish you could squeeze one more year ;) If you'd overhear him discussing the letter with his friends - could be priceless, LOL. Have you tried to validate the experience by telling about the letter to your friends while he could hear what you're saying? So, the Elf is at the beach - lucky fellow, LOL. We should do something like that for our almost 3 year olds, thanks for the idea <3

  5. This is too cute! Although all my kids now know there is no Santa or elves this would of been a great idea for when they were younger. Thanks Susen, for sharing this with us at the Teach Me Tuesday Linky Party:)
